At least 549 killed in floods in Pakistan, heaviest rain in 30 years

Pakistani government agencies said today that unusually heavy rains during the monsoon have led to flash floods that have claimed at least 549 lives in the past one month.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of Pakistan said today thatFloodingApart from taking lives, over 46,200 houses were damaged.

Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Agency said that during the last month, the country received the highest rainfall in 30 years, 133% more than the average of the previous 30 years.

In addition, the National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan also stated thatIranAndAfghanistanBordering Balochistan has seen an average of 305% more rainfall than in the last 30 years.
