JAKARTA – Indonesian badminton has just lost one of its heroes, Verawaty Fajrin. The late is planned to be buried at the Tanah Kusir TPU.

Verawaty died at the age of 64 years due to lung cancer, Sunday (11/21/2021). He had undergone treatment at Dharmais Hospital before he breathed his last.

According to a release from the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI), Verawaty’s body will be buried at the Tanah Kusir TPU, South Jakarta, Sunday afternoon.

Later, the deceased will be departed from the funeral home, DKI Cipayung Lot, Jl. Durian Blok T 1 No 23 RT 01 / 08, Cipayung, East Jakarta.

According to a number of reports, Verawaty will pray at the Al Islam Mosque, Cipayung area, East Jakarta.

During her career as a badminton player, Vera recorded a number of achievements. Playing for women’s doubles with Imelda Wigoena, a player born in Jakarta, October 1, 1957, she won the All England 1979 after beating Atsuko Tokuda/Mikiko Takada (Japan), 15-3, 10-15, 15-5.
