A coastal fire in Laguna Niguel on Wednesday afternoon prompted the evacuation of nearby homes, luxury resorts and golf courses, fire officials said.
As of 9 p.m., the blaze had grown to 200 acres and 20 homes had been destroyed in high winds and dry conditions. Another 100 homes may be in the fire path.
A temporary shelter has been set up at the Crown Valley Community Centre on Parkway in Crown Valley.

Homes in the Laguna Niguel community were estimated to be worth $2.6 million as of May 11, according to Zillow, with up to $9.99 million for the large estate on Vista Court. (See the red dot in the image below.)
