When he arrived at Camp Nou, he was briefly mentioned about the captain of the Argentine national team. Interestingly, he replied that it only took him a minute to pick him up to Paris, where he used to be.
“If you give me a few hours, I’ll go and pick him up,” Alves said.

On the other hand, Alves also appreciates the move of La Pulga, Messi’s nickname. According to him, the former icon of El Barca will always be remembered in the hearts of the fans, as well as the greatest partner in his career.
“History has been written and he will always be remembered. He was the greatest thing I have ever seen and had as a team-mate,” he said.
However, he believes that one day Messi will also return because there is no better place than at Camp Nou. The reason is, he has felt it himself after moving to a number of clubs, such as Juventus and PSG.
“You always miss the greats, that’s normal, especially if you have a good relationship with them. It would be great to see it here, but it doesn’t happen. I’ve been to many places, but there’s no place like Barcelona.”
