NUSA DUA – Indonesian women’s doubles, Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahya Pratiwi stopped in the quarter-finals Indonesia Open 2021 . Both were defeated by Japan‘s representative, Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida in two straight games 17-21 and 13-21.

Competing at the Bali Convention Center, Indonesia on Friday (11/26/2021) night WIB, Febriana/Amalia were actually able to show resistance in the first game. However, in the second game they were overwhelmed and had to admit defeat to Nami/Chiharu.

This result makes Nami/Chiharu qualify for the semifinals of the Indonesia Open 2021. In the future, Nami/Chiharu will face other Indonesian representatives, Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu in the semifinals of the Indonesia Open 2021.

Febriana/Amalia started the match quite smoothly. It was observed that the Indonesian pair managed to outperform Nami/Chiharu several times through their effective games.

The result was sweet, Febriana/Amalia were able to take the lead before the first interval even though Nami/Chiharu showed fierce resistance. Febriana/Amalia were able to outperform Nami/Chiharu with a thin score of 11-10.

After the first interval, Febriana/Amalia were again in control of the match. However, their points were actually overtaken by the Japanese representatives because they were not optimal in returning the shuttlecock.

As a result, the first game was won by the Japanese pair. Although not far apart in points, the Febriana/Amalia resistance finally fell with a score of 17-21 to Akira/Taichi.

Turning to the second game, Febriana/Amalia again fell behind in points. It was observed that the Indonesian pair repeatedly lost points because they could not keep up with the Akira/Taichi game.

This situation continued until the middle of the second game. As a result, the Japanese representatives managed to lead in the first interval with a score of 11-4 over Febriana/Amalia.

After the break, Febriana/Amalia tried their luck by doing a variety of punches to the opponent’s defense. However, Nami/Chiharu’s defense is not that easy to break down.

As a result, Febriana/Amalia again lost to Nami/Chiharu in the second game with a score of 13-21. This victory makes Nami/Chiharu entitled to secure tickets to the semifinals of the Indonesia Open 2021.
