At around 11 a.m. that night, the Ontario Fire Service was notified of a fire in an area outside a building on Proforma Avenue.

The building belongs to the US Merchants Company, and the products designed inside it are mostly plastic and wood that fuel the fire. It is said that the fire first started from the west side of the building, then spread to the building and quickly reached the third level. 64 firefighters were on the spot to douse the fire.

Employees working in the building were evacuated and the explosion was heard. One employee said a propane storage tank in the building was “the most worrisome issue”, but luckily firefighters got it under control in time.

The fire was put out at around 5 a.m. on the 4th, and staff and firefighters inspected the scene to make sure there were no sparks in the building. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
