‘Football is more of a 24/7 way of life than ever’ – Paul Robinson pays tribute to Manchester United player for his pre-season efforts

Former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson has hailed Manchester United star Marcus Rashford as a ‘smart man’ to stay fit ahead of pre-season.

Manchester United plan to start their pre-season tour next month. They will also kick off the 2022-23 season with a Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion on August 7.

Rashford has been working behind the scenes to try and stay fit ahead of pre-season as the Red Devils begin life under Eric Ten Haag. The England international recently posted a video of himself sprinting through training on his Instagram.

Robinson has been impressed by Rashford’s desire to stay in top form ahead of his pre-season return to Manchester United. The former Tottenham goalkeeper is now looking forward to seeing if the striker can play ahead of the 2022-23 season. He told Football Insider:

“Rashford has a lot of positives. He can play in a lot of different positions and that helps. It’s great to see he’s already in training. Football is more of a 24/7 than ever. Lifestyle. Players realize it’s all about gaining that extra edge. Their bodies are their offices. Their bodies are their money-making machines.”

“The fitter they are, the better they will be and the more money they will make. It will only benefit them. Rashford is wise to stay fit. Will he get a chance at the start of the season? We will have to Let’s wait and see.”

“We rarely hear from the manager what kind of player he wants. Whether Rashford can make a difference in pre-season depends on Rashford.”

Man Utd’s Rashford expected to bounce back next season

The Red Devils have struggled in the 2021-22 season as they failed to qualify for the Champions League. Rashford, in particular, struggled last season.

Rashford played just 1,657 minutes last season. The 24-year-old has only scored five goals and provided two assists in the process.

The Englishman’s poor form has even led some to think he could leave Old Trafford this summer. Former Manchester United star Daley Blind has reportedly convinced players to stay put.

After deciding to stay with the Red Devils, Rashford is now looking to impress the Ten Witches ahead of the new season.
