RussiaA 66-year-old man shot and killed three people in a business district of the southern city of Krymsk on Sunday, authorities said.
Reuters reported,social mediaA previous statement from the local branch of Russia’s Investigative Committee said the suspect knew at least two of the dead. The Commission of Inquiry investigates major domestic offences.
The statement said preliminary indications are that the man with the gun killed two acquaintances out of personal grudges. The third deceased was a man whose identity is still under investigation. A 61-year-old man was also injured and taken to hospital.
The Associated Press quoted Russia’s state-run Tass news agency as saying the local interior department spokesman Alexander Runov said the suspect shot and killed two employees of a medical center before going outside and shooting passers-by. As a result, 1 was killed and 1 was injured. The motive for the crime may be related to the suspect’s divorce.
Footage circulated on social media of a man shooting in the street, which ends with him shooting someone lying on the ground at close range. Reuters could not verify the authenticity of the video.
Krymsk is located in the south of RussiaCrimeaKrasnodar Krai on the peninsula. Russia forcibly annexed the Crimean peninsula of Ukraine in 2014.
