NUSA DUA – Indonesian women’s doubles, Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu made it to the semifinals Indonesia Open 2021 . Both managed to beat the Japanese representatives, Mayu Matsumoto/Ayako Sakuramoto in a three-game battle, 21-16, 12-21, 21-16.

Competing at the Bali Convention Center, Indonesia on Friday (11/26/2021) afternoon WIB, the three games were very fierce. Reciprocal numbers occur between the two partners.

However, in the end, Greysia/Apriyani were able to win the match and qualify for the next round. In the future, Greysia/Apriyani will face the winner of the match between Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida (Japan) vs. Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi (Indonesia) in the semifinals of the Indonesia Open 2021.

The first game starts with a slick attack from Greysia/Apriyani . However, Mayu/Ayako did not want to lose and immediately launched a counterattack that resulted in points.

This situation continued until the first half of the first game. Actually, Greysia/Apriyani had won by a difference of three points. However, Mayu/Ayako’s discipline game allowed the Japanese representative to catch up.

As a result, Mayu/Ayako immediately took the lead in the first interval with a score of 11-10 over Greysia/Apriyani. However, the pause seems to be the time for Greysia/Apriyani to change strategy.

It was observed that the women’s doubles winner of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics managed to turn ahead through her hard smash. Finally, Greysia/Apriyani closed the first game with a 21-16 victory over Mayu/Ayako.

Similar to the first game, the start of the second game immediately presents a fierce and fast game. It was observed that this pattern of play resulted in an equally strong score in the first five minutes of the match.

However, Mayu/Ayako played more effectively and finally beat Greysia/Apriyani in the first interval. The Japanese representative won with a score of 11-7 over Greysia / Apriyani.
