Here’s the 2022-23 Ducks schedule and top 6 games to watch

The Ducks kick off the 2022-23 season by hosting the second-year Seattle Krakens on Oct. 12 at the Honda Center, eight times since they started playing as an expansion team in 1993-94 Season at home.

As the post-Ryan Gertzlaff era begins, here are the details of six can’t-miss games.

Oct. 12 vs. Seattle

The Ducks’ season opener will give fans their first look at GM Pat Verbeek’s revamped and upgraded roster, which will likely include many new names and faces following this week’s draft and next week’s free agency opening.

Nov. 25 vs. Ottawa

The Ducks’ annual Black Friday matinee has senators visiting. Opponents are often less important than the game itself, which has become a tradition over the years that has slowly built up a few rival franchises.

December 20 at the Kings

The league continued its recent cryptic practice of delaying the first meeting between SoCal rivals until the end of the season. In 2022-23, the Ducks and Kings have played just three times instead of the usual four.

Dec. 21 vs. Minnesota

Speaking of scheduling quirks for the 2022-23 season, the Ducks started a period with the Wild, playing 10 straight games at the Honda Center. Their home game was interrupted by the league’s annual four-day Christmas break.

March 27 vs. Colorado

After beating two-time champion Tampa Bay Lightning last month, Stanley Cup champion Avalanche finally made his Honda Center debut. The Ducks will visit Denver alone on Jan. 26 to face the Avalanche.

April 13 vs. Kings

The regular season ended with the second of two visits by the Kings. The Ducks also host the Kings on February 17. Wouldn’t it matter if the team played something meaningful in the regular-season finale?
