NUSA DUA – Trainer Herry Iman Pierngadi does not set a big target for the men’s doubles in Indonesia Masters 2021 . Interestingly, Herry IP also did not charge the world number 1 pair Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo.

Indonesia sent nine representatives of the men’s doubles at the Indonesia Masters 2021. Of the nine representatives, currently only two representatives remain in the quarter-finals, namely The Minions – nicknamed Marcus / Kevin and Pramudya Kusumawardana / Jeremiah Erich Yoche Yacob Karambitan.

Moreover, the two pairs will meet in the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Masters 2021. Therefore, Herry believes, a number of big targets will only be a big burden for the players. The reason is, the men’s doubles players are in a bad condition after undergoing various tournaments, including the European tour.

“If my target is a little bit, to be honest, it’s difficult because we keep our targets set, while this is a game in a row. This is already the eighth week, if the target is set, the player can be under pressure. their condition is not very fresh,” said Herry IP, Thursday (11/18/2021).

However, Herry said that the main target for the men’s doubles at the Indonesia Masters 2021 is to only achieve the best. The rest, he hopes that young players can develop because they meet many of the world‘s top badminton players.

“In my opinion, playing here (Bali) is only 60-70 percent, no one can play optimally. It looks like it’s in terms of energy, how to play, so if you say the target is just giving the best, “said Herry IP.

“I tend to put my hopes on these back-up players, pushing them to adapt more quickly at the top level,” he continued.

“I think that the target is more than the development aspect. So it doesn’t have to be the Minions to win, they’re also quite tired. But, the enemy is the same, just don’t put too much pressure on it,” he continued.

Meanwhile, the match between the two representatives of Indonesia’s men’s doubles will be held tomorrow, to be exact on Friday (11/19/2021). Of course, it will be interesting to wait for Pramudya/Yeremia to meet their seniors in the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Masters 2021.
