“Although there was a delay in the FIBA Asia Cup from August to next year, FIBA has already set a date for next year so it is certain that the biggest basketball event in Asia will be held. This can be a milestone for the revival of national basketball again,” said Junas.
Furthermore, he explained that the participation of the Indonesian men’s basketball team had begun by participating in the FIBA qualifier for the 2023 FIBA World Cup. At the national level, basketball became the first sport to start a competition with strict health protocols during the pandemic.

Hopefully in 2022 and 2023 the situation will improve so that basketball becomes a sport that is getting up again than before,” said the man who also serves as Director of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL).
