Los Angeles County casino armored vehicle security robbed at gunpoint, cash robbed

On the 4th an armored-van security guard was killed in a shootout outside the Hustler Casino in Garda, Los Angeles County.ShootingThe shooting was started by an unknown number of suspects, who also stole an undetermined amount of money from the car.


Gardiner police said the shooting happened shortly after 10 a.m. in the casino parking lot on the 1000 block of West Redondo Beach Avenue.

According to Inspector Christopher Cuffe, the two guards exited the armored vehicle and were “ambushed” immediately. At least one guard managed to open fire, but it was not clear whether any suspects had been shot. Cuffe said the suspect eventually fled with some cash, but it is not known how much. It is unclear how many suspects were involved, but at least three are believed to have been involved. The guard, who was injured by the bullet, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but he is expected to survive. Another guard was also taken to the hospital for non-gunshot wounds, mostly cuts and scrapes.
