Xu Kaifeng gave a speech to thank BeijingCaliforniaTaiwan Hakka Association and Fucheng Zhenlexuan Hakka Eight Music and Dance Troupe organized this event so that overseas Chinese in the Bay Area can appreciate and inherit Hakka culture.

Fucheng Zhenlexuan Hakka Eight Music and Dance Troupe was founded in Tainan by Wen Shaobing, former professor of the Department of Resource Engineering of National Cheng Kung University and director of the Jewelry Department of Meihe University of Science and Technology.retireIt was later founded with the aim of inheriting Hakka music and dance and providing communication and connection opportunities for Hakkas who settled in Tainan.

Wen Shaobing told this newspaper that the Fucheng Zhenlexuan Hakka Eight Music and Dance Troupe holds about 15 similar activities in Taiwan every year, this time he came to the Bay Area for his daughter and son-in-law’s vacation It is also in the Bay Area . He hopes that people in the Bay Area can also be exposed to the beautiful aspects of Taiwan’s Hakka culture and share their exposure to the Hakka culture of their hometown.

Wen Shaobing said that this event is a good effort. He believes that Hakka relatives and children in the Bay Area need to learn the Hakka language, songs and dances. Seeing everyone’s enthusiastic participation in the program, they were all taking great interest, which proved the importance of promoting Hakka culture abroad.

According to Wen Shaobing, “Beiyin” is the collective name for traditional Hakka music. There are differing opinions on its origin: some say that Bayin refers to the eight musical instruments “gold, stone, silk, bamboo, gourd, clay”. “leather and wood”; it refers to the eight musical instruments used in playing traditional Hakka music, although the actual number of musical instruments used is far more than eight; it is also considered to be related to the form of performance in which Eight music composers sit around a table.

Wen Shaobing also introduced Hakka folk songs, flat folk songs and Hakka Beiguan to the audience. The orchestra performed live Banshan songs “Mother’s Ferry” and Beiguan “Hanging Gold Medal”. The activity also includes parent-child interactive content, teaching children to learn the Hakka nursery rhymes “Heavenly God Falls into the Water” and “Uncle and Uncle”, as well as hand-made DIY Hakka flower cloth paper Umbrellas and hakka blue shirt bookmark are also included.
