‘Please give the cheating Astros a loss’ ‘What a terrible series for the Twins’ – Twitter reacts as Minnesota Twins teeter on edge of Houston Astros sweep

Minnesota Twins fans can expect more from this week’s series against the Houston Astros. The Twins went 18-11 into Game 1, leading the Chicago White Sox by more than four games in the American League Central Division. The Astros are exactly the same — 18-11 and No. 1 in their division, the American League West.

But the series doesn’t look like a battle between two evenly matched teams. The Houston Astros went to the field and won Game 1 5-0. Wednesday’s game was postponed due to rain, so the team made up for it with a double on Thursday. The Twins were beaten again in Game 2 as they lost 3-11. As of this writing, this is the ninth inning of the final game of the series, and the Minnesota Twins are trailing 0-5.

Twins fans are not happy. Here are their best responses on Twitter.

Twitter’s response was Minnesota Twins teeter on edge of Houston Astros sweep

The sweep would put the Minnesota Twins up 18-14. The Houston Astros will rise to 21-11.

One Twins fan hopes the expected sweep is just a credit to the Astros, not a discredit to his team. The Astros have been in tears lately. They are 9-1 in their last ten games. Maybe the twins just caught them in bad times. This fan hopes so.

What a horrible series for the twins.Wish we just caught the Astros because they’re cutting everyone down, but that sucks in every way

Here’s a Twins fan coming up with some interesting stats. The Twins are batting better than the Astros entering the series. It certainly doesn’t look like that.

@nick nelson MN The Astros’ BA team is actually worse than the Twins, but their pitching has brought them along, and now the bat is of course alive.

This user is giving us more stats. In the series, the Astros’ starting pitcher played a total of 14 innings and won only once. The Twins threw 10.1 and allowed 11 runs.

The Twins fan was furious that his team couldn’t even get a win. They are also very concerned about the Astros cheating scandal from a few years ago. Might be time to move on, @Genaro Padilla.

@Twins Can you guys please give the cheating Astros 1 a loser. Damn it!

The Astros definitely have twin numbers in this series. Minnesota better be ready to play when they head to Houston in August.

Here’s another Minnesota Twins fan who made it obvious.

“Spaceman kills twins” – @Trell Deano

The user tried to guess the game’s score even before the game was over. The Houston Astros are now 5-0. At least, they got the Minnesota score right.

@Twins It’s going to be a long game, this guy pitches… 10-0 for the Astros? Maybe more?

This user’s name is Antonio Brown, but don’t be fooled: it’s not the guy who ran out of the Metlife Stadium shirtless. This Antonio Brown is an Astros fan and he absolutely loves his team’s success right now.

@astros I think the twins have had enough

After this series, the Twins need to bounce back. Their fans desperately need one, too.
