Unknown people disrupted the screening of the film “Gareth Jones” at the “International Memorial” (included by the Ministry of Justice in the register of organizations performing the functions of a foreign agent) in Moscow. This was reported by “Kommersant”.
According to the correspondent of the publication Yana Rizdvyana, the film started at 19:00 Moscow time, but after 20 minutes “some good guys broke into the hall” and hid their faces with medical masks. “First they shouted ‘Everyone on the floor’, then they jumped on stage and started shouting ‘Down with fascism’, something about traitors, about selling the Motherland and so on,” she shared.
According to Rozhdestvenskaya, the film crew of the NTV channel came with the unknown. At the same time, Iryna Ostrovska, co-chair of Memorial, added that in addition to them, “there was a woman from another state channel who was already making false stories about us.”
The film “Gareth Jones” was released in 2019. He tells the story of a British journalist who in 1933 witnessed a famine in the villages of Ukraine. Ostrovskaya stressed that the organization has permission to show the tape.
