“There’s a big question mark about the way he approaches the game” – Parthiv Patel on MI’s Kieron Pollard

Former India player Parthiv Patel has expressed his concerns over the poor batting form of Mumbai Indians (MI) Kieron Pollard in the ongoing IPL 2022. He noted that the Rovers’ empty run in the Willows is a major concern for his team.

Parthiv Patel speaks on Cricbuzz ahead of MI’s imminent clash with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He said the five-time champion’s only concern will be Kieron Pollard’s mediocre form.

The former India wicketkeeper added that he does not want the team to make any other changes to their squad.

“There’s a big question mark about Keelung Pollard’s form and the way he’s approaching the game. That’s probably MI’s only concern, and beyond that, I don’t think they’re looking to make any changes.”

It is worth mentioning that Kieron Pollard is reserved by MI ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. However, the right-hander has failed to make a big impact in the cash-rich league this year.

He’s only made 144 runs in 11 appearances this season. Surprisingly, the power hitters had an average batting average of 107.46 and a batting average of 14.40.

“CSK may consider Ruturaj Gaikwad as captain” – Ajay Jadeja before CSK clash with MI

In the same video, former India international Ajayjadja mentioned that Chennai could appoint starter Ruturaji Gaikwad as captain after they are officially eliminated.

He pointed out that CSK made Ravindra Jadeja captain ahead of IPL 2022. However, the move backfired and had an impact on both player and team performance. That’s why the former cricketer believes it would be better to give them a chance when they have nothing to lose.

“CSK have named Ravindra Jadeja as captain and see their future in him. The only other option I see right now is Ruturaj Gaikwad. Once they are officially out of the playoffs, they might look at him as captain. They could See him in that role. They’ll know that when a leadership change doesn’t work out, their entire season is going to go bad. So instead of repeating the same mistakes, they can try to make the rest of the game Change.”

The Chennai-based side will take on Mumbai in their 59th league match of the season. It’s a must-win match for MS Dhoni and Co. as they look to stay afloat in the competition. The match is scheduled for Thursday (May 12) at Wankhede Stadium.
