MANCHESTER – Donny van De Beek is more of a decoration on the bench at Manchester United . The Dutch midfielder was advised to find another club so that his career would not die.

Manchester United spent 40 million pounds, or equivalent to Rp. 787 billion, to bring Van De Beek from Ajax in the 2020 summer transfer market. However, the 24-year-old rarely gets playing minutes at Old Trafford.

Rafael van der Vaart assesses Donny van De Beek’s style of play does not match Manchester United. He also advised Van De Beek to leave the Red Devils.

“About Donny having to leave Man United? I think yes,” said Van Dr Vaart as quoted by Tribal Football, Thursday (11/25/2021).

“I think Donny is a good player, just not for Man United. I think he would be much better off if he went to Germany, because that’s where he would be himself. Or could have come back to Ajax, this club suits him very well and His presence can also help Ajax,” he said.

“Overseas, you need someone like Fernandes. He can always be played in any condition. If Donny doesn’t score and struggles to get into the box, then a player like that will not be of much use,” he said.

Furthermore, Van De Vaart assesses Van De Beek made a big mistake by choosing to join Man United. He explained that Van De Beek did not ask ahead of time about where he should continue his football career.

“I think he made a mistake in choosing a club, because his current club doesn’t suit his style of play. He’s just looking and wondering: where should I go? He’s not trained to build attacks from the back. other players don’t want to. I don’t think Donny fits his current club at all,” he said.

With Manchester United this season, Van De Beek has scored one goal and has played just seven games in all competitions. Meanwhile, the Dutchman has been linked with a move to Newcastle in January 2022.
