“Was he upset about what happened? He told me he had some responsibility for what happened and needed to accept it,” Mr McCarthy said in the recording.
Earlier, Mr McCarthy told aides that he would press for Trump’s resignation.
Representative Scott Perry
The committee first publicly contacted Pennsylvania Representative Scott Perry in December and wrote a letter requesting information, which was the committee’s first formal attempt to interview a member of Congress.
Committee members have argued that Mr Perry, who heads the ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus, is planning to appoint former Justice Attorney Jeffrey Clark as interim attorney general after showing sympathy for Trump. False allegations of widespread voter fraud.

Shri. Perry, a former military helicopter pilot with close ties to Meadows, and another Republican, Jim Jordan, the Ohio envoy currently in subpona, have made several attempts to oust Trump. His friends called him General Perry. He retired from the Pennsylvania National Guard in 2019.
