MANCHESTERConnor McGregor b Sympathy to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who was sacked by Manchester United. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star paid tribute to Solskjaer who, according to him, remains a legend and icon of Man United even though his coaching career at Old Trafford ended poorly.

McGregor is known as a big Man United fan. The fighter who was defeated by boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. firmly stated that he was a fan of The Red Devils.

“Man United is my team, I once found an old photo of me wearing the famous gray Man United jersey. I’m attracted to the winning mentality of the club and the people around Man United,” McGregor said.

Now, the fighter nicknamed The Notorious also paid his last respects to Solskjaer. Although he was sacked after taking Man United out of the top four of the Premier League standings for the 2021/2022 season, McGregor still views the Norwegian coach as a figure who must be respected.

“I want to give a big shout out, and a big thank you to a living legend that is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer! Ole, you are forever a legend! A father! Icon! Inspiration! Hero! Legend! Thank you Ole!” reads the upload on McGregor’s personal Twitter, reported Monday (22/11/2021).

For information, McGregor really idolizes Solskjaer. He was one of the people who was happiest when Solskjaer raised Man United‘s performance in the early days of his leadership in the 2018/2019 season.

“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a special person! Super sub Man United, player and coach. Crazy! You can feel the passion he has for his club and that’s his history. Beaming with pride when he’s put on an incredible team counter-attack over the years, past and present, Wow!” McGregor tweeted in January 2019, reported Monday (22/11/2021).

Now, Man United is temporarily handled by Michael Carrick while the club’s management is looking for an interim coach. The club’s management is also looking for a permanent coach who is willing to coach Bruno Fernandes and colleagues next season.
