Iran and Israel clash in Security Council; Israel demanded to increase sanctions on Iran as soon as possible

The British Guardian quoted Agence France-Presse as reporting:United NationsThe Security Council held an emergency meeting at 4 pm Eastern Time on the 14thiranattackisraelA meeting was held in which the Israeli and Iranian ambassadors to the United Nations faced off. Israeli Ambassador Gilad Erdan urged “imposing all possible sanctions on Iran as soon as possible”, while Iranian Ambassador Amir Saeed Iravani said there was no other way. The choice of self-defence has no intention of aggravating the regional situation.

Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Erdan, called on the Security Council to “impose all possible sanctions on Iran as soon as possible” and “condemn Iran’s terrorist acts.”

At the same time, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on all sides to exercise restraint and said, “No place in the (Middle East) region can afford more wars.”

Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Iravani, said the attack was an exercise of “inherent self-defense” and that there was “no alternative” to taking action. He stressed that Iran “does not want to escalate the situation or war” but would respond to any threat or aggression.

Apart from this, Iravani also warned Washington not to interfere and posted on social media.

In retaliation for Israel’s airstrike on the Iranian embassy in Syria earlier this month and the killing of a senior commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Iran launched its first airstrike on Israel from its own territory on the morning of the 14th, Taiwan time . ,
